Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

In reply to your e-mail, I live in Huntington, Texas. We just recently received a new area code, it used to be 409. Also, I just found out that Rebel Warbington is my uncle. My mother never knew her father because her parents were divorced when she was a newborn, but she always knew his name.
I tried to research his last name and I find a lot of information but not much that ties to her father. I have found where he died in 1985 and on the marriage license it shows Herman to be a Jr, but I still find no other info on his family. Rebel and I have talked and we both believe him to have more children than just my mom and Rebel but we can't find any. How would you go about researching his family tree?"

"Virginia:
I have found the SSDI records for Herman Otto Warbington, that is how I knew that he was passed but the info ends there, No history info anywhere! I think I am going to try and get the death cert though. Rebel said that as a child he knew a brother and sister named Cully and Kim that were his half siblings, my mother's name is Sheryl Warbington, she was born in Houston TX in 1954 and Herman and her mom were divorced in 1955, She never heard from him again. The rumour was that he had gotten another woman pregnant and that was why they divorced but I have no evidence of that. My mom never knew if she had any siblings on her dad's side until now! This has been a wonderful experience finding Rebel, but I am very curious about the others."

Let us not forget Staff Sergeant Howard Otto Warbington, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service, SSG Warbington served our country until April 3rd, 1971 in Binh Dinh, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was married. Howard died from an undetermined explosion. His body was recovered. Howard was born on September 15th, 1949 in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
SSG Warbington is on panel 04W, line 104 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C."

Weirder and wilder. I was born on March 14, 1946 and am the son of John D. Warbington and Dea Barton Cunningham. Too many John Warbington's with the same birth years. Deborah Linz Hutchings (to whom I am related and proud to be) has kindly gathered a wonderful list of Warbington's from William Warbington in 1772. My geneaology list was faxed from her and has many written notes. She is really nice and might send you a copy. There are a number of Civil War sites which have some good infromation. Good Luck.
